Clipboard managers like Maccy and Paste focus on storing what you copy. Screenshot tools like CleanShot X capture your screen but aren't built around a searchable clipboard history. The macOS 26 Spotlight clipboard keeps only a few days of recent text and images.

Drobu closes that gap. A screen recording is just another thing you can capture, edit, and paste from one clipboard, so a GIF you just trimmed sits right next to the link you copied this morning, ready to paste.

How it works

   Capture a region

   Press a capture shortcut, Ctrl+Shift+G for a GIF or Ctrl+Shift+V for video, then drag a box around any part of your screen.

   Record to GIF or video

   Drobu records the region. Stop whenever you are done, and it lands straight in your history with no stray file for you to find or clean up.

   Trim it inline

   Cut the recording down to the moment that matters, right inside Drobu. No QuickTime, no GIF converter.

   Paste from your history

   Your recording lands in your clipboard history. Open Drobu with one keystroke and paste it into Slack, GitHub, a doc, or anywhere.

One searchable history for everything

Text, links, images, screenshots, GIFs, and recordings all land in the same place. Full-text search finds any of them as you type, each clip shows the app it came from, and your history is kept for up to a year. Everything stays on your Mac, with no account to create.
